When I bought my Marigaux, it was the best thing I had tried so far, and I was maybe a bit impatient, and I didn't have a lot of confidence that the intonation problems were the fault of the instrument and not of my playing. I had a local professional check out the instrument, and she thought the intonation was marvelous. It was only as I got more used to the instrument that I starting consistently noticing the low middle C. I did know about the flat low B; I had two Marigaux on trial from Nora Post at the same time, and one had a linkage that employed the B-flat resonance. That oboe had a more in-tune low B, but it wasn't the better instrument overall. I bought the better sounding one with the flat low B.
