... directors are really weird in the last days before performance and this one must have too much ear wax to be so stuck on tuners
... better quietly check that your tuner is showing same as director's
... oboe is more flexible than ye gods the trumpet, bow, bow to the trumpeter elect
... when Goddess Hautbois is sharp (who else is equal to duet with ye god?) She certainly does not pull out anything (know thine own instrument) although sticking out a bit more lower lip would be mightily satisfying under these circumstances
... when confused, play in the middle between their extremes and synch with the loudest players, and if that's your two bars solo, stick tight, babe
