Yamaha do the YOB-xxxB or xxxTP models which are dual system for the UK market - these have the thumplate added, and a repositioned 3rd 8ve (to the left of the thumbplate) and a low B-C link which connects the low B (and Bb) key to close the low C key along with it.
As for fitting a thumbplate to make your oboe dual system, that's relatively simple and doesn't require a lot of alterations to the rest of the oboe - two pillars will need fitting into the body and a notch filed out of the bar on the top joint so the thumbplate lever can fit into it.
The thumbplate has a strong spring to keep it open and the upper end of the bar (conservatoire bar) on the top joint down so the top joint Bb and C keys are left to open under their own springs. Pressing the thumbplate will make the Bb and C keys close, and this puts it back into conservatoire mode so you can play Bb and C by closing RH 1 as normal.
With the thumb off the thumbplate, you can do G-Bb and G-C tremolos much easier than with conservatoire system as you won't need to keep putting RH1 down for the Bb or C.
