Hi, Dutchy, from former days elsewhere, I had bought the Broadway one and the Christmas one, but there is something else to consider as well...
I discovered easy fake books that are all in the key of C. These are fantastic for easy playing, but I am not yet there to even consider playing these yet with the oboe, but I am sure they will be awesome fairly soon.
They have come out with more books lately, and I've got some bookmarked and am considering them for the future.
One of my hangups at this point in my playing on instruments is all the sharps and flats, for some reason that is something that always is a bit hard for me to get in my brain and so when I see sheetmusic that is in the key of C, wow, do I go for it!!!! Silly, I know...I need to get this and study music theory more (which I am). I sometimes just don't know why they don't but the sharp and flat symbols by every note...it sure would help me....grin. I think this visual thing is about the hardest thing that is in sheetmusic. But now I realize that this would be easier with the study of scales, and the study of chords and keys, and in that regard I am on my way.
I must run...I am preparing food and all that stuff for yet another funeral at church...Tears.
