I got my three reeds in from my first order this afternoon! And so I stuck one in a small cup to soak the 1/2 inch top part for five minutes, then proceeded to blow! And well, I do get a bunch of sounds and am delighted thus far! WOW! It is very exciting to make these duck or car horn sounds! And in fact, it is a little in resonating sounds, a bit like the sound of a bagpipe! And then after trying here and there I do see how the sound does improve and I actually got some better sounds here and there, well, once in a while! Now as to being in any sort of tune; too early to tell where I am! LOL
My next focus will be to get busy on my Essential Elements 2000 and see how mine relates to the sound on the CD!!!!
I also want to say to all here...thank you so much, so very much for helping me with all of this...I hope I retain all the information you all gave, and will try my best to get going correctly. I do hope I can find a teacher.
Thanks everyone.
Oh, I did apply just a touch of grease to the cork, just in case. But all was well. And oh, it is really interesting how the moisture level of the reed really matters as far as the resonating sounds and clarity of sounds. And oh, one little weird problem I have is that my right upper side of behind lips seems to form an air pocket...hee hee makes me giggle as it surprises me, so already a problem that needs working on! LOL
