AUK, honey, simmer down. Nobody hates you, K? ;)

Look, I hang at a lot of other message boards/bulletin boards/Internet forums, and there the rule *IS* to quote someone's post when you're addressing him.

See, like this:

Quote:

l by citing my post it makes it plainly personal..if they didnt intend it to be personal they should have not cited my post and just posted their opinon without adding mine to their post.

Nope, sorry, you got it dead wrong (she said kindly). It simply adds clarity to the discussion, if everyone can see exactly which words of which preceding post one is addressing. Thus, it's actually considered good etiquette TO quote a post--plus you score points by appearing to be organized and focused, see.

So D wasn't insulting you, not by a long shot; he was just showing good Internet Bboard manners.

And yeah, like Mark said, if you're going to post your opinion on an Internet bulletin board, you have to be prepared for the fact that some people might actually (gasp! *oh noes!* [grin] ) disagree with you. It's called "having a conversation". ;) If we were all sitting around a kitchen table talking about embouchures, and you said, "You can't switch between instruments without harming yourself", and D piped up with, "Well, I beg to differ", would you bristle up all offendedly and go off in a huff? Probably not. So why bristle up all offendedly here? Difference of opinion is what makes a horse race, and is the reason we don't all play short scrape reeds with thumbplates, eh?

Chill, eh? This is a good place. You have no enemies here.

And, FTR, I've never noticed any difference in treatment from Mark based on whether I've contributed or not, mainly because some of us contribute anonymously, so how could he know?
