I'm currently having oboe lessons in the same music school where I play clarinet in our band rehearsals. Only two people know about it, and I'm trying hard to keep it a secret. If they knew I could play oboe, even not too well, I'd be kidnapped and superglued into a chair at the front. Yes, oboists are like gold dust here!

The two techniques are so removed that it's like speaking two very different languages. I have no problem whatsoever in going from one to the other, though I guess it would be daft to try it in a short time period. Like driving a car on the left and right. You need time to adapt.

I daresay that there are people who do have difficulties, but then everyone is different.
