OK, noted importance of F res key and looked for the relevant screw
(lower one of the F res assembly) and it seems already pretty loose as it is
Have experimented backing it off quite a bit, and turning it back to where it was again, does seem to affect pitch of E and F
The flanges mentioned are the ones under the double screws to right of E hole, snug up to the F vent cap
Sound test
in spite of the tiniest of turns of the screw as mentioned earlier,
F now sounds more like E, E is airier and D is balking, so this has now complicated the F res screw adjustment you want me to do
I'm not going any further trying to figure this out, it's going in to see the guy who already knows what to do
But I do really appreciate your taking the time to explain it to me, hopefully somebody else reading this will find it all makes a lot of sense to them
Mechanical aptitude isn't my strong point, must be good to have natural ability at tinkering so can fix things easily
What intrigues me is how this has arisen in the first place, why was the F going off? Must be the change in the weather!
