Oh, thank you so much for this, Chris P, my yamaha 441 (modified conservatory) is bottom heavy and really tips the reed away, both my teachers have just shrugged and said that's the way it is with oboes, lift right arm / elbow a bit higher ... guess i need that exercise in preparation for an even heavier instrument when i'm ready to move up to full conservatory?
Are the oboes mentioned so far in this thread the only ones well balanced at the thumbrest or are there others (full conservatory) worth mentioning?
