I'm sorry I didn't mean to be confusing. I'm only really familiar with an oboe so the split key looked really different to me.
And yes, the beautiful oboe above has a lot more keys than my oboe. It looks like the g# key could actually be reached with the right index knuckle. It seems to be in a really good position. That would be nice. That key on my Buffet is practically impossible to reach. There is no danger of the finish being worn off on that one...
So in actual weight, does anyone know the lightest to the heaviest in oboes? And, where the full pro oboes weigh in these days?
That Howarth is a beautiful instrument.
