Yeah, some of them have to be left so loose that it looks like they might fall out.
My ever-resourceful teacher has suggested a way to keep such screws from needing constant readjustment: clear nail polish.
When you have got the screws where they ought to be, you can put a dab of clear nail polish on the ones that are too loose, and it will seal them in place. If you need to adjust at some point in the future, it's easy to break the bond, but it keeps them from turning on their own (which happens to my oboe all the time.
