"Personally I dont think that encouraging amateur oboe players to change corkpads on their oboe is a very wise thing to do.
This will be 100% hedding for disaster and an unplayable instrument.
That is in my personal and humble opinion."
I did stress this point somewhere else on this messageboard, though can't remember where. I'd only advise anyone to tackle cork pads if they have experience in repadding, though definitely wouldn't advise a novice to attempt installing cork pads.
