Not BASF CrO2 tapes I hope! Oh, those were the days! I used to swear by BASF tapes when I were a lad. Others likes TDK or Maxell, but I always stuck with BASF (and blocked up the two inner holes on the spine so my tape machine wouldn't automatically select CrO2 on playback, just for clarity's sake).

C120 should better as it's thinner (and more likely to have plenty C120 tapes that have snapped because of the tape being so thin). I didn't get on with tape as a feeler gauge because it has too much drag, and leaves oxide on the pads.

Now you can't use MP3 players or iPods as feeler gauges, unless you're checking the venting on a certain pad on a much larger instrument!
