The big advantage to Stevens staples is that with the raised spirals near the oval, the vagaries of tying are reduced to lowest terms. The spirals bite into the inside narrows of the cane, thus minimizing twisting of cane on staple while tying. This, in my mind, makes them most worthy of consideration. My tying woes vanished literally overnight when I started using them. If you buy them in lots of 100, the cost per is within reason. Plus, Julianne & David Stevens are delightful people & therefore worth supporting.
