When I got my barrington, being a novice player, I struggled generating sound, but 2 weeks has passed, I switched from Med Soft to Med reed. I am SO pleased with the tone coming out of the barrington. I took me about 3 days of playing with the fingering to "break" it in. The keys were stiff, but they are feel right now that my fingers are trained of the spacing. My only concern right now is the left index key doesn't open up much. There is a spring underneath the key to prevent it from opening up like the rest of other keys, even though I am capable of getting the right pitch out it of.
The only thing that scared me so far is that the pad on the G# key fell out after the first assembly, and 2 corks (which jarred the B and Bb key fell out) after I assembled it the first time, but I now can play B4 and Bb4 with those 2 pads out.
