I also use the Pro-Tec double case. The price was right, and I do like it for the way it protects the instruments, and for the way the velcro flap between the handles closes even when you don't zip the case shut. More than once I have picked it up, not realizing it was not zipped, and the velcro has saved the day.
One thing I don't like about it is that it is relatively heavy and bulky. If you are hauling (as I always seem to be) another bag of music, your pocketbook, and whatever else along to your gigs, it just becomes cumbersome to handle. Not enough hands, especially if you are in a campus setting where you are walking from a parking lot to a distant rehearsal or performance hall. It does have a shoulder strap, but unless you wear it bandolier-style, across the body, it slips off the shoulder.
For that reason, if I were to choose again, I would go for something that has backpack straps on it, and was a little lighter. If the BAM case protects the instruments, I would probably choose that if I were choosing again.
