What don't I like about the Lorée case? That's probably a worthwhile question to answer, because maybe some of the replacements I'm considering have the same problems:
(1) If I have the thing open in my lap, the case cover is flopping all over the place, and if the outer pocket is unzipped, everything in it falls to the floor. If it's on a table or something, the cover flops over the rest of the table, taking up a lot of room.
(2) Because the thing opens only 90 degrees, if I have the thing in my lap and it ends up leaned forward a bit, the lid slams on my fingers. Also, if I manage to keep the case cover from flopping over away from the case, it sometimes flops onto the lid, slamming the lid on my fingers or, worse yet, on my instruments which I'm removing or replacing.
(3) The instruments aren't tightly held. If the case is jostled in transit, I sometime find them in less-than ideal positions when I open the case. This is the reason my teacher got rid of her Lorée case.
(4) Most minor point: I've had to replace the Marigaux tenon cap on the lower joint of my oboe with half of a film canister (loose fit) because it won't fit in the Lorée case.
