I'm somewhat confused! There is a YouTube video of Alex Klein playing the 3rd mvt. of the Mozart oboe concerto at the Saint-Barthelemy festival this year, and I heard that he was recently giving a masterclass at the Royal Academy of Music in London. My confusion is, that he had to retire from his Chicago Symph. Orch. job after developing focal dystonia. And yet, there is no sign of the condition in his playing from the YouTube video. Does anyone know if he has had a successful recovery from this condition? Treatments such as splint therapy work for some and I am curious if this has been the case for him. Or could it be that his condition was only fairly mild and allows him still to regularly perform. Any information? Thanks, James
