Square 1 -- exposing oboe to excessive heat is extreme treatment, which is correct context regarding post expansion

Square 2 -- lack of evidence suggests that oboe owners successfully avoid extreme treatment of their instruments :-)

Square 3 -- the available evidence indicates that the majority of cracks are caused by normal treatment

Square 4 -- most cracks happen during normal use; lined bore & tone holes are crack prevention for normal use, not extreme treatment

Next question -- How many cracked oboes wuzzat you said? Is normal treatment faulty?
