OK, I feel better now,
The difference seems to be in the Loree "frame" of sound. As a new oboe player, there are factors in performance that I can't be sure whether they are from my inexperience, or inherent in the instrument setup. It is good to know how I and others respond to the different circumstances. I think I will stay with my initial choice of Loree regular bore. I did try a Loree Royal, and I did enjoy immensely, but it is expensive and does not add enough for the double price tag for how I will use the instrument. Also, that is a side by side comparison, when taken alone on a gig, they would be indiscernible to most. Thanks for the moral support.
