Well, I have a DM bore Loree and have tried the DM loree staples and found them to be.... horrible lol. The length is the same (except one time forrests sent me 46mm instead of 47.... always double check your batches) as the ones many American players use but I honestly DONT know why it just does not work with the american scrape. Well, it DOES work, but the upper register is extremely flat on every single reed. I even had a friend work on the DM staple and she didn't like the upper register either. I think its because we both use wider shapes and I guess the DM staple does not like us for that, lol.
I agree with Mister OboeDrew that there really IS no appropriate staple for a brand. One of my teachers in HS used the Stevens Pro #2 and her reeds were extraordinary. I can not seem to make a decent reed with those staples, but I can make great reeds with the chudnow corkless brass staples while other people hate it. Go figure. Unfortunately with winter coming upon us your reed making will change depending on where you live so the staple wont really take a hit as much as your scrape... I dont know if that made sense?
