By the way, your descriptions of the Marigaux's sound are refreshing. Glowing warmth, aroma of warm roasted coffee... it's so good to hear something other than "dark" and "bright."
A few months ago I played some oboe CD's for one of my high school students and asked her to describe and compare the players' sounds. She thought about it for a minute and then said that the first sounded like lemonade, the second like limeade, and the third like an iced cinnamon bun! We describe sound with analogies to texture (silky, smooth, rough) and to lighting (bright, dark)... so why not taste or smell?
