Mark,
It's easy enough to say "Staple A will sound like this and Staple B will sound like that." But such answers are oversimplifications. The staple interacts with the cane, scrape, shape, tie length, gouge, instrument, and player (embouchure, use of air). And we all want a slightly different sound and a slightly different feel from our reeds. So, will your new oboe require new staples? The answer is... maybe. There are too many interrelated factors to make broadly applicable claims about the interaction of any particular staple with any particular instrument. And there are fine players using all sorts of staples with all sorts of instruments, so I don't think any oboe requires a certain staple.
It seems you already like the sound and feel of the Marigaux with your current reeds built on your current staples. Are you dissatisfied with anything in particular? If so, is there any reason you think it's the staple (not one of the other factors listed above) interacting poorly with the new instrument?
Cheers,
Drew
