The C# issue interests me as well. If the Minuet in question were to be considered baroque music, then my ear as well would prefer the use of C#. In the groupette illustration in the Barret preface material, the comparable note is raised a half step, consistent with utilizing C# in the Minuet. In the example there is a "#" written above the turn sign. The inclusion of the "#" sign above the turn could be considered redundant in the Barret preface material and not a prerequisite to the raising of the pitch, and/or its absence in the Minuet could be considered yet another of the examples of misprints in the original Barret. Ultimately, however, I agree with those who decide these things as a matter of informed taste, and not according to an iron-clad rule.
