I recently bought some bore oil and an oiling rod from Larry Naylor...he's very big on the organic oil thing...i wonder if the oil you used in the past had petroleum distillates in it...apparently a lot of the bore oil out there does, and Mr. Naylor says it's bad for the oboe. But if it was just oil on the pads, there's another downside to oiling the bore, since I'm sure you were careful. Naylor's oiling rod is designed to help avoid that happening, but it's a risk for sure.
