I'm learning a lot here! We only threw one reed away so far and that won't happen again. I'll make space for reeds that need help or staples that can be used in the future. I have a plan now and I know it will work.

Yes, he's had 4 lessons with a private instuctor and three weeks with the band on oboe. He's sounding better but definately not the quality he was on the clarinet. I have faith in this kid, he just needs time.

I have been in touch with his instructor so I think we will try him again in his own studio; away from the band environment. I've also gotten a few names of other instructors that I want to try. I may not be able to get him back on lessons until August (schedule conflict), but I assure you, he'll have one this summer.

I'm going out tomorrow to hand select a medium soft reed or two from our music store. I'll order some soon but want to have him try these first. I'll probably get the Emeralds as they are available in the store.

You guys have been wonderful, Thank You! I'll definatley be a regular visiting this board, you have been a world of help in an area that I am totally unfamiliar.
