Its funny when u think of it. I switched from the other side around and i think i'll play oboe for the rest of my life now.......BUT i still play clarinet when i need to give a little bit of advice to my juniors....since i've been playing the clarinet for 3 years......

The process of learning the oboe is a bit like de-learning the clarinet if u know wat i mean......basically u have to have a clear mind when u play either instruments so that u dun get confused with your embouchure.

AND yes....

when i first started oboe....i was technically copying what i learn from clarinet and directly applying it to oboe...HOW wrong was that....but one word of advice GMAC....i won't want to learn the clarinet, its practically too different from the oboe......and it doesn't even sound half as good as the oboe...OWWW.....but its still worth a try anyway...good luck!
