Well, I played on a friend's clarinet one day after school (just once, so maybe it would change after a while) before woodwind sectionals. I played it for about 1/2 hr and directly went back to my oboe to start practice. I couldn't even seem to play my oboe right after that, and it took until nearly the end of sectionals to make everything right again. I felt like I was going to pass out too. =( I know I won't play it again, and I know that some clarinetists I know don't ever want to even blow on an oboe reed ever again, especially our band director. But with you having played on a clarinet before, this info. might not be of much use. Anyways, good luck on whatever you decide. I'm sure it would be a trial to decide what to do if I had a free clarinet. Best of luck.
