Author: AMac  Date:   2003-12-27 21:45 GMac.. it won't ruin your embouchre unless it consumes all your time and then when you go back to Oboe.. it won't be the same. It's worse being a Clarinet player for years and then starting on Oboe IMHO. The Clarinet can give you some very bad habits (that I have discovered that I need to fix..) but it's a great instrument too. The only strange thing is when you switch right away between the instruments, there is a big enough difference to screw your embouchre up for just a minute while it readjusts to the different size of reed/mouthpiece. Haha. Why would we freak at you? You wouldn't be the only person in the studio that would be able to play clarinet. Rachel has played it, I think Katrina has played it too and so has Lindsey. Enjoy it. It's nice to be able to play other instruments, but don't let it distract you from the Oboe (Jim would kill you I think..). There is really no definite answer to your question because everyone is different. If you need any help.. I'm willing to lend a hand. Enjoy it bud. Andrew
