I don't really have anything more to say about this except that I'm a bit puzzled by your logic. You say that you believe it's a myth, but then you say that the repairman you trust can repair blown-out instruments to almost as good as new. Hmmm... if it's a myth, what is there to repair? Is he taking money to fix something that didn't need to be fixed in the first place. Maybe I don't understand your use of the word "myth."
