Er ... if the problem you have is that the forked F vent does not open fully, then John is entirely correct. I understood, however, that your problem is the opposite? His fix is quite easy to do, and may improve matters.
If you have a repair guy who saw the instrument only recently and will likely take a look for free I would take it to him, since the regulation around that part of the instrument is truly hairy. Your middle finger needs to simultaneously close three different pads with light pressure, and there are many screws to be adjusted in the correct sequence.
