Ah .. the forked F breather. Yup, this could be a problem.

To make sure it is this key we're talking about, using only the RH joint press ONLY your ring finger; it should pop open. Now, with your ring finger pressed, press your middle-finger. It should close. It is designed to be open only when fingering forked-F.

It should not affect speaking of the RH Eb, unless the middle finger is not closing it fully; however if it does not close all the way when ring-finger is open it can affect intonation of the E, a note that tends to be sharp on a loree anyway.

During Winter months the transverse pillars can bind the keys if tolerances are too tight (shrinkage of the wood lessens the distance between the pillars) so this could have been perfect in the Autumn.
And yes, regulating this part of the mechanism is hard - go back to your repair person and ask him to take a look.
