I have a theory: That your Cassell reed sounds good because it is TOO HARD!!!
Now even cutting out the physical factor of your articulation problem, the reed is obviously way to hard for you. When i was a beginner, i had the same image, thinking that the harder reed sounds better, it does of course, but in fact it is because you usually do not need (or cant!) to do any embouchure refinements when playing. An easy reed can sound very good! And all good reeds are easy! From a scale of 1-10, how tired are you after playing on that Cassell? The reed has to allow you to lean your air on it, not push it. Obviously i can tell that it is difficult, and i am proud that you really try to sound in tune, and you are most of the time! =) Start taking lessons now, and trust me, you will be sounding 100 times better than those kids in Youtube in no time!
p.s. Susan and Chris advise is gold, and it really takes more time and effort than you think to achieve. You can make it!
Regards,
Howard
