No, use your tongue, but only lightly tongue to get the note started so there's almost no attack.

I know it's easier said than done, but persistance pays off - if you can start a note at a quiet level without it starting loud (accented) and then quietening down to the level it should be (as well as not 'bulging' the tone) then that's the battle won.

Aim for a completely even tone (both in pitch and volume) with no accent at the beginning, fattening out in the middle ('bulging') and quacking to finish.

It's almost like you're saying a soft 'da' rather than a hard 'ta' to start the note with the tongue.
