it's probably your embouchure. but, it could be a little from your reeds, too. even if they work fine for others, everyone responds differently to reeds. you could try blending (a small amount) the plateau into the tip. this should produce a darker sound...see if it works for you! but, work on achieving a better embouchure first before totally relying on changing reeds. that way you'll later have a great embouchure and learn to be able to produce a nice, mature sound on any kind of reed, whether the reed happens to be good or bad.
