Currently I take violin lessons (7 years) and play oboe (1 year of lessons, 3 years of community band). People think I'm nuts to work on both oboe and violin. Due to a family crisis, I was unable to practice both instruments for about 8 weeks (torture!). I was able to get back in line with the violin within a week of practice. The oboe - yikes, I can't last more than 20 minutes! All my reeds blow hard not medium - I'm in sad shape! However, I didn't start playing violin and oboe because they were considered easy. I started both instruments because someone told me they were hard to master. I need that challenge in my everyday life. Neither disappoint! By the way, I just took up golf - now that's a whole other animal!
