 Re: oboe for beginner

Hi,
I'm an over 40's clarinet player - only been playing for two years.
I'd love to try the oboe and wondering which to try - I have small hands and damaged nerves in my left thumb and index finger which makes playing the clarinet interesting !
I'm doing ok with the clarinet but wondering if, with my particular difficulties, an oboe would suit me better.
Any views would be appreciated.
Thanks
Sue :)
