All very good advise my fellow Bboarders!

I tried scraping the very corners of the tip and blending the tip and the heart area more (Ke Xun's original finish did not have much of a hump.) and it worked wonders for one of the two reeds. This also works with any type of scrape in general and i have been taught so before.

Unfortunately, the same method did not help the other reed. It seems to me that the bark area which lies alongside the reed (middle to bottom) is not quite defined on this reed. How does this affect the reed? Should the bottom window and heart be significantly defined and separated under lighting?

Thanks guys for all that input! I squeeze new reeds with a plaque quite often and it works!
