If they're just a bit stiff, scrape a tiny bit of cane out of the blend between the tip and the heart, also thin the very tip; a counterintuitive adjustment that i find sometimes works is to scrape the base of the reed close to the thread - this sometimes works because the tube of cane just above the staple is too open. Weakening the structure there can bring up the pitch if you're working on the other end to free up vibrations. These suggestions assume the reed is just a bit stiff; if it's way too stiff, you may need to rebalance the whole reed.
