Your new pro instrument will have the forked-F vent. On mine this is so good it is hard for me to discern the difference between forked and regular F. The other players in my regular ensemble have never noticed a forked F, and I challenge any listener in any audience to tell the difference in a blind trial!
A legato F to D transition using LH F is challenging to get perfect, while the same transition using forked F is brain-dead simple. The long LH F is one more option that you can use if and when you need it. It need not replace fingerings with which you have become comfortable.
Bottom line: Don't kill yourself trying to unlearn all of your forked F fingerings. You will always sound better if you are relaxed and confident, playing the way that is most comfortable for you.
