vboboe, I will do as you say, especially will take it easy on the warm-up. The problem is, the water is not coming *through* the vents to the outside; it's just getting into them and staying there, fouling them and gurgling. Which is why I suspect something besides pure, clear water is involved.
And it is very resistant to coming out. Chris P, I've done the technique you specify at least once a day since I got it back. The sucking thing works -- and not just because it imitates the sucking sound of $$ leaving my wallet. I get this torrent of water, suddenly, out the bottom of the joint.
I just wish I could understand why it's getting in there so readily in the first place, and I am focusing on (obsessing about?) the beeswax, because none of this was happening before the vent threads were waxed. But the water is also gathering in the half-hole, and I don't think there was any beeswax anywhere near it . . .
