Condensation will find it's way into where you least expect.

In the 8ve vents there's a metal well glued into the body into which the inserts are screwed into, and these wells have a large internal cavity between them and the inserts. And as they're metal they will collect condensation when cold which will build up inside - hence the deluge of water when you suck the water out.

It's a common problem with oboes, especially in cold temperatures.

On conservatoire systems the top joint Bb and C toneholes will also collect condensation, so the only thing to do is with the oboe assembled, close RH 1 (ooo|xoo) to open the Bb and C vents and blow the water out the affected toneholes. With dual or thumbplate system the top joint Bb and C toneholes are open when the thumb is off the thumbplate (and will remain open in the case as well) so condensation here easier to deal with.
