<<Maybe it has simply accumulated too much dirt from so much practising and performing since the last waxing.>>
No, that's not the point.
The point is, I JUST got the oboe back from repair -- cleaning, adjusting, tuning, etc. The vents were NOT waxed when I sent it in (my teacher doesn't like to use wax around the vents -- thinks it creates problems -- and had removed all the wax from my vents). I KNOW that the repair tech used beeswax to seal the vents (we discussed this).
And now, just a couple of days after getting the oboe back, the vents are clogging at the slightest provocation, which was not happening previously.
What I'm trying to find out (and I'm sure my teacher will tell me, but I don't see her until Wednesday, and I'm going bonkers about this) is WHY is this happening now??? Is it the wax, or what else might be happening? And what can I do about it?
If I had been abusing the instrument, or hadn't had it cleaned or adjusted for ages, I'd understand. But I just spent an arm and a leg shipping it halfway across the country to a well-known shop, and now it has this issue that it didn't have before.
