Although i agree melancholy songs can sound exquisitely poignant on oboe (or on many other instruments, it's all in the way they're played), i don't interpret any pieces in Gek I, p. 21 No 1, 2 or 3 as melancholy at all, for instance, #1 is very lyrical, even a little bit hop & skippety, #2 is peacefully contented, #3 sounds more like a pleasant boating holiday on a lake with a few whitecaps ...
... but hope i hear you correctly, glad you want to express yourself emotively in minor keys (some people hate & avoid minor keys) and glad you think oboe's a perfect instrument for you to do that, lots more air support to you :-)
