My intuition told me that huboboe knows everything you needed to know about getting in to some kind of school, as a young oboist, like your BB pseudo name suggests.
He is probably a great teacher too ! He is oboe Prof at Stanford and a pro at SJ orchestra, a gouger manufacturer and what nots. He is your local academic and pro for you, so make the time to learn from him while you are awaiting admission. He gave you this valuable info, like what the audition looks for, on the BB for free, that tells you something about huboboe..............
Wished I had someone like that during my younger years............but there were no computers or internet and OboeBB then either ! It was sink or swim, a very binary event then and using your best guesses and judgments (and could be wrong too).
