Before you apply to all of these schools, have you taken lessons from all of these teachers? I would say the single most important factor is the professor, followed by playing opportunities and programs. I would suggest you try to take as many lessons with as many of these professors as possible before auditioning, even if it means flying out to Boston.

I went to NEC for a while in my undergrad. I'm currently doing my DMA at ASU. I have strong opinions of both, and you can contact me privately if you would like more my take.
