I bought a universal power adapter from Radio shack years ago. Its switchable to different voltages for various needs and has a variety of quick-change tips for different applications. Usually, I keep it set up for my tuner, which otherwise, does devour 9 volt batteries as Chrisp mentions, and they usually go dead at the wrong times.
