... i think the design of the silk probably matters too, the one that got stuck was symetrically curved to a broad beaver tail shape opposite the pull cord, so it was a bit too wide all in one place
i had another old worn-out silk that was tapered to the wide end with asymetrical curves on each side, that one slithered through no problems at all, even with a stitched flat hem on it
