Personally, control and comfort in playing a reed are an inseparable duo. I have never had a reed that was umcomfortable to control, or uncontrollable in its comfort. Although I agree that control is more important than tone. Do you think as a oboist/reedmaker that sometimes it is hard to tell a difference?
