if the grease is well worked into the cork pores there's no goo at all to hang about in the reed well, even 3 yrs later my yamaha's reed well isn't showing any gunk in it
maybe there are various weights / formulations of cork grease out there which could act differently, i'm refering to the tube stuff for woodwind instruments
